Saylor has had a rough few days and today was no different. She had a fever for 3 days, 2 of those days it being over 103. It was very scary and I was not a fan of it at all. We took her to the doctor the 2nd day and they told us that her throat was bad but it wasn't strep and there was nothing they could do for us. She was so sick, she was like a little rag doll. She just laid there on us all day and night (if it hadn't been so scary that would have been really nice, since she has never in her life done that for us). We couldn't get her to eat or drink hardly anything. When we finally got the fever to go down, then a rash broke out all over her face and neck and eventually all over her stomach and back too. My mom told me it sounded like Roseola, so I looked it up and sure enough, Saylor had every symptom. Everything I read about it, Saylor had or did. So a doctor never diagnosed her, but I did (it actually said that they can't really test for it, they just check for all the symptoms, but they can't even tell that until the rash shows up, so the doctor wouldn't have diagnosed her when we were there). There is nothing the doctors can do for it, it is just something that has to go away on its own.

Then for a fun time at church today (our new ward is at 1:00 o'clock, the worst time in the world we found out, Saylor is horrible) Saylor decided to be a fun little baby and cry most of the way through it. We left during sacrament and sunday school and then in relief society (my first time there), then I had to get up and walk out because she had pooped. So I had already drawn a lot of attention to myself, which I was not a fan of and then after the poop episode during the closing prayer of relief society she fell and hit her lips and head on a metal chair and cut her bottom and top lip open. She let out quite the scream and I am pretty sure that every person in the room looked up but the one saying the prayer. I grabbed her and walked out the closest door to me, and then looked at her and her mouth was filled with blood. She was screaming at the top of her lungs. (Luckily the door led to the outside) She wouldn't let me look at it and I couldn't even see what was cut from all the blood. I think her teeth must have cut her lips but I'm not sure. So after all of that, that is why she has fat lips in these pictures. They don't look as fat, because this was when we got home.

Her rash all over her back (if you can see it)

The rash all over her face.
oh no! poor Saylor. I really do hope she starts feeling better soon. Cutting her lip is just insult to injury since she already doesn't feel well. Yes, 1 o'clock church is the worst when you have a kid. We have had it for 2 years now and lately it seems that either Logan or I has to leave because Lydia starts acting a fool and needs a nap in the worst way.
ReplyDeleteIt is so rough being a mom because you just want to make everything okay for your little ones. It is especially hard when they are so young and can't tell you what it wrong. I hate to tell you, but this is just the beginning of many days and nights like that. We have had our fair share too. I always asked mom when Lydia was a baby what she thought was going on before I called the doctor because I didn't want to be one of "those" moms that called all the time. You find with each child, you don't call as much because you have experience and thing don't get you so frazzled so quickly. I can totally relate to the sunday issue too. I HATE 1:00 church and we are going to that in January. Yuck!! Hang in there!! We love you guys!! :)
ReplyDeletePoor Saylor baby. Jean, is she feeling any better now? That sounds like the exact same thing Cruiz went through when we were moving here. Maybs you heard about it. Cruiz's temp. got up to 105.5, and I was feaking out. And when I gave him Motrin, it would only bring it down to 101 or 102. He had his fever for 6 days and it was so sad. Then the same thing happened with the whole rash thing. Maybs Cruizer had Roseola too. Sorry about her being sick. It is pretty much the worst and you worry for them so much.
ReplyDeleteI hated it when Gavin got his first flu.It was horrible. He was over a year old at that time but still couldn't talk at all. I hated not knowing what hurt or what was wrong. The worst part was being barfed on. And I agree with Dusty, I am dreading January when we start pm church. I like the sleeping in (as much as I can) but Gavin usually goes down at 1:00. ugh. Well anyhoo I just wanted to tell you also Andrew looks nothing like Gavin even in real life. He is a Greenway through and through. Well I hope Saylor is feeling better.
ReplyDeletePoor poor Saylor. Good thing mom is there for you to call and ask some of those crazy questions. (But ask her which kid had that specific issue, and she'll guess for days!) I hope she is doing better, maybe a surprise trip from grandpa would help?
