December's Activities

I make a family calendar every year and I needed pictures of my girls for it. Casha wouldn't let go of the string cheese, so it made its way into the pictures as well.
I already had one of Say but she wanted to be included too of course.
So some of our friends had these evles at their house. Saylor became obsessed. Its all she could talk about every day. She would ask me every morning to call my friend so she could ask her what the elf had done at their house that day. Zach and I caved after this was going on for a week, and an elf showed up at our house. Saylor was so excited she could hardly stand it. She woke up about a half hour to hour early all month just so she could find the elf and see what he had done. She LOVED having him around. She named him Jingle and his skin is a little darker than most because he was all that was left after going to 3 different stores to find him. We didn't think she would notice and it was one of the first things she said to me. She said, "hey is skin is darker than Brynn's and his eyes aren't blue like hers either." Who knew she even noticed that stuff on her friends, but she did. I am telling you she was obsessed.
Zach was installing an outlet for me on top up of the cabinets so that we could have Christmas lights plugged in. I love having a handy man around :)
I tried doing some sort of Christmas activity with Say every day and this days activity was to make gingerbread cookies. She loves baking with me.
A picture of where Jingle hid.
Say and Casha liked the gingerbread cookies and Say decided they needed to have them before breakfast one day. It was so cute I couldn't get mad at her.
Naughty Jingle got into the cookies too and took a bite of the one that Say decorated.
Naughty Jingle, Say even got that the chocolate chips were supposed to look like poop. I didn't think she would.
This was happening at our house about every 3 or 4 weeks for about 4 months straight. Talk about torture. Luckily Casha only got the flu twice, but Say had it about 5 times, always followed by a cold that lasted about 2 weeks. Then we would start the whole process over again.
The girls started playing so well together about this time. I loved it and loved watching them. They were obsessed with these boxes for a few days and its all they played with.
They were having a blast playing in the doll stroller together.

Me and Say watched Polar Express and slept by the Christmas tree one night. She thought it was so great.
I did this scrapbook/journal for Zach for Christmas, but I was super behind, so every afternoon I spent sitting at the table working on this. It turned out awesome so it was all worth it.
I tried getting a picture of them in front of our tree, but Casha was not cooperating very well.
Naughty Jingle got into some Christmas candy.

And he even managed to find us at Gandma and Grandpa's house.

  1. That's a great update Jean. I'd like to see some new house pics if you don't mind. Also, I love the one with Zach in the closet. Ha Ha so funny.
