Our latest

So I haven't taken a lot of pictures lately and I don't really have any reasons. The ones posted are the only ones I have taken at all since my last post. Sad I know, especially because I missed out on some fun things that happened.
Zachary came home one day from work and decided we should go get some chocolate, strawberries, gummy worms, and gummy bears to dip. I love all of that, so I was excited. Saylor loved it too, but mostly the chocolate. She LOVES chocolate. She didn't like the gummy worms as much, it kind of freaked her out that they were worms.

We had Arch and Shantay come and visit for a weekend and Saylor loved playing with their little girl Zaylie. We learned that Saylor is not the best at sharing, but we are working on it.

The next weekend my Dad came to visit and watch the Girls State Basketball Tournament. We went to a lot of games, like 3 or 4 games a day, for 3 days in a row. Saylor did awesome at them all, even though she ate crappy and had no naps. Then 2 weeks later, my parents came back for the Boys State Basketball Tournament and we did the same thing again. Saylor would wake up in the morning and the first thing she would say is "another basketball game." She got all sorts of junk to eat during the games, so she loved it. This picture is of my Dad reading to her out of the Number 1 book. It was a book that his Mom read to him growing up and now he reads it to all of his grandkids. Saylor couldn't get enough of it, she would go and get the book and my Dad's glasses 3 or 4 times a day and bring them to him. The book has nursery rhymes and stories like The Three Little Bears, The 3 little pigs and all of those types of stories. Saylor's favorite was The 3 Little Pigs, she asked for it every single time.
Saylor was holding herself up for like 2 seconds between the stools and then told me to take her picture, so I did. Haha, isn't her hair looking awesome?
Zach was hooking up the DVD player and Saylor wanted to help and hold the flashlight because it was hers, so she crawled in there with him.
Some of the other things we did in the last month and a half: We've gone to the park a few times because it has started getting nice here. Saylor asks everyday if it was warm so she can swim and go to the park. We've gone to a few playland places for Saylor, and made a few trips.
Zach went to San Fransisco to help my brother in law Josh install a job, and while he was there, Saylor and I went to Rexburg to spend sometime with my sisters. My sister Cindy is staying at my parents house for a month and she has a little boy that is really close to Saylor's age. I thought it would be so fun for them to play together. Yea right, all they did was fight it seemed like. We had to monitor them the whole time because if not, they would fight. They would play too, but mostly just fight over everything they were playing with. Plus Saylor cried the whole week long. I thought I was going to go crazy. At the end of the week, most of my sisters all came to my parents house for a sister weekend. We went and got pedicures, went to lunch, shopped, did a scavenger hunt, watched movies, talked lots, and hung out. Zach came to my rescue for that though, so I was able to enjoy my time, and not have Saylor crying by my side the whole time :) In her defense, she was getting over a earache and cold, had a molar coming in, which I didn't realize and didn't ever get a good nights sleep because she woke up a million times every night (which about killed me off since she usually never wakes up.) I was really happy to see Zach when he showed up Friday night and took over duties for me :) We still had fun though and loved spending time with my family. Saylor loves being at my parents house and goes and hangs out with my Dad and Mom all the time. My Dad read to her every night from the Number 1 book before she would go to bed, and then my Mom would read stories to her too.
Now we are home and trying to get back to a normal schedule and getting Saylor back to sleeping normal again, and waiting for Spring to come, so we can spend some more time outside. Thats all she wants to do is be outside.

  2. Hi Jean,

I liked reading this post. I can picture it all and especially since our Dads are so similar (my dad really only reads one book to the grandkids and it is "Billy Goats Gruff". So, I want to know some details about the book your dad is reading. Will you type the official title and author? I wonder if my dad liked it too. Your sisters weekend sounds really fun. c/ya

  3. Saylor is so cute and her hair is so long and adorable! Pretty sure Bree won't get hair until she's 5, poor thing. Sounds like things are going great. I can't believe how fast time flies. Seems like yesterday we were in High School and I was doing all sorts of stupid things. my "rebel" stage, Haha! We need to catch up sometime!

  5. Jean that sounds fun. I'm glad it's getting springy over there. Here too. Finally. Real sick of running the dark, rain, by myself.
