Saylor has been asking for awhile now to get her ears pierced, but I have told her we needed to talk to Dad first to see what he thought. So after talking to Zach he said it was up to me and her. If I thought she would do fine with it, he was good with it. Well I was struggling with letting her go ahead so the last few times she has asked I have found reasons to have her wait. Well I had to run to the mall 2 weeks ago to pick up a present for Zach's birthday and Say kept asking if she could get it done. I told her we would think about it as we went around to the other stores. I thought she would back out of it or forget by the time we were done. She didn't. As we were getting ready to go, she reminded me and asked me again if she could get her ears pierced. So we turned around and headed to Icings. She picked the ones she wanted and the worker and I talked to her and it explained what was going to happen. I thought she would back out, she didn't. They marked her ears and she was so excited and scared. The girl pierced one ear and the pain took Say by surprise, she started crying and said she didn't want to do the other one, I grabbed her face and made her look at me and before she even knew what was happening, the girl had the other one done. She cried for another minute or so and then she was good and loving it. She kept looking at them in the mirror. When we were done she wanted to go surprise Zach at work and show him her ears. It was so cute, she was so excited to show him. When we got to Zach's work he came out to help get the girls out of the car and he didn't notice Say's ears right off and I could tell Say was starting to get sad and was about to lose it and then Zach noticed. He was completely surprised so it made it pretty fun for Say. She wanted to go in and show everyone he works with. Then for the next week I had to tell everyone everywhere we went that she got her ears pierced. She would sit and tell me over and over to tell them she got her ears pierced until I said it to whoever we were talking too.
This was taken the day she got it done, May 9th.
She was pretty excited, can you tell? So far everything has gone well, hopefully it continues too and she doesn't get any infections.

She was so cute the other day when I came over and she was showing me her earings! Super cute girl!
ReplyDeleteKerr, I'm lovin all your posts! Good work. I especially loved reading about you guys hangin out outside on those chairs. It made me laugh, especially to know how embarrasing it was for you. And I can picture Zach just laughing at it all that your bishop showed up at that time. HAHA Good times. Oh and dude, why don't you just use your camping chairs? Even though I love the car chair and office chair! I'm so glad for Say too that she could get her ears pierced! I love that she's still so young, but wants them that bad.
